Description

The Blacktail Canyon Project: Archaeological Survey after the Ryan Fire, Fort Huachuca Military Reservation, Cochise County, Arizona (TR2003-2) (PDF)

The Ryan Fire burned nearly 4,000 acres on the Fort Huachuca Military Reservation between 30 April and 2 May, 2002. Desert Archaeology, Inc., was subcontracted by Fort Huachuca and Engineering and Environmental Consultants, Inc., to conduct a Section 106 emergency survey to relocate and assess archaeological sites located within the affected area. A pedestrian survey of 2,460 acres was undertaken; 12 previously known sites were relocated, and eight new sites were identified and recorded.
