Archaeological and Historical Investigations at Nolic Papago Indian Reservation, Arizona (AP02) (PDF)

Data recovery operations were carried out at archaeological site AZ AA:13:19 (ASM) within the modern village of Nolic on the Papago Indian Reservation, Arizona. Excavations were conducted in portions of two households which were occupied by Papagos during the late nineteenth/early twentieth centuries. As background, this report provides a summary of previous research in the region, describes the natural and cultural setting, and details what is known about the history of Nolic. The principal focus of this report is on presentation of the results of archaeological field and laboratory studies.
