The starting point for visits to Canyons of the Ancients National Monument, the Anasazi Heritage Center is a museum showcasing the Ancestral Pueblo (or Anasazi) culture and other Native cultures in the Four Corners region. In addition to permanent exhibits, special exhibits, and educational resources, the museum curates extensive research collections. It also has a research library and an artist-in-residence program.

The museum has been operated by the Bureau of Land Management since 1988. All museum facilities are wheelchair-accessible.
