Oblique Views: Archaeology, Photography and Time

October 25, 2015 through May 25, 2017

The Museum of Indian Arts and Culture in partnership with Archaeology Southwest proudly presents an exhibition featuring paired photographs by Charles and Anne Lindbergh and by Adriel Heisey. These large, highly detailed photographs capture Canyon de Chelly, Chaco Canyon, and the northern Rio Grande, both in 1929 and as they appear today, revealing changes—some transformative, others subtle—during the last century.

Public Opening
Sunday, October 25, 2015, 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.

• Lecture by photographer/pilot Adriel Heisey, 1:00 and 3:00 p.m., in the
Kathryn O’Keeffe Theater.

• Butterfly Dance, Buffalo Dance and Rain Dance by the Red Turtle Dancers
of Pojoaque and Santa Clara Pueblos, 2:00 and 4:00 p.m., on Milner Plaza.

• Book signing of Oblique Views: Aerial Photography and Southwest Archaeology
(Museum of New Mexico Press) by Maxine E. McBrinn, Linda J. Pierce,
