Archaeology Southwest’s Matt Peeples will be speaking at the monthly meeting of the Little Colorado River Chapter of the Arizona Archaeological Society. The meeting will be held on Monday, August 19, at the Casa Malpais Museum in Springerville, Arizona,  starting at 7:00 p.m.

Matt’s talk will explore the the Upper Little Colorado valley in the distant past (A.D. 900–1400), highlighting its position as a persistent crossroads between several cultures and ways of life. Peeples will describe the long history of immigration into the valley and investigate how such population movements made this region so important for developments occurring across the entire Southwest.
