– Preserving the Apache way though language: “Dawa jii’ be’ ant’ ee.” In Apache this means, “Live it every day,” but not everyone in the tribe understands what this means, whether they are full Apache or part, simply because they do not speak or understand Apache.

– More than 200 artists expected at Native fest: Buckeye resident Laura Shurley-Olivas, owner of Yucca Fruit Designs, will be among 200-plus artists displaying their work at the 15th annual West Valley Invitational Native American Arts Festival in Litchfield Park this weekend.

– The Friends of Archaeology supports the Museum of New Mexico, Office of Archaeological Studies, which provides archaeological services to the public and private sectors. The staff conducts international field and laboratory research, offers programs for school groups and civic organizations, and works to preserve, protect, and interpret New Mexico’s prehistoric and historic sites. The Friends of Archaeology has organized a number of field trips and a lecture series to support the mission of the Office of Archaeological Studies.
