Tucson, Ariz. (March 15, 2021)—On the occasion this afternoon of Debra Haaland’s confirmation as Secretary of the Interior, Bill Doelle, President and CEO of Archaeology Southwest, issued the following statement:

“Haaland’s confirmation as Secretary of the Interior heralds a new and transformative era for the management and appreciation of ancestral places and cultural landscapes on our public lands. We are excited by the possibilities, and we truly look forward to working with the BLM and BIA under her historic leadership.”
