Site Summary: A site of deep historical significance, Pecos Pueblo was one of the few sites of the Southwest to be occupied from the transition from ancient to historical times. Archaeological excavations at Pecos by A.V. Kidder in the 1930s helped to define the study of southwestern archaeology.
