Andrew Van Cleve is currently a Restoration Archaeologist with Archaeology Southwest, in partnership with Tonto National Monument, focused on the recovery from the 2019 Woodbury Fire. He works to assess damage to archaeological sites, help mitigate any damage, and help prevent further damage from the effects of the fire. He also provides general support to Tonto National Monument and hopes to add to our understanding of the archaeological context of the Tonto Cliff Dwellings in the greater Tonto Basin region.
Andrew holds a B.A. in Anthropology from Southern Illinois University (2017). He has previously worked on historical and ancient sites across southern Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri, as well as at El Malpais National Monument in New Mexico.
