The Ryan Fire burned nearly 4,000 acres on the Fort Huachuca Military Reservation between 30 April and 2 May, 2002. A Section 106 emergency survey was conducted to relocate and assess archaeological sites located within the affected area. A pedestrian survey of 2,460 acres was undertaken; 12 previously known sites were relocated, and eight new sites were identified and recorded.
