Results of Archaeological Data Recovery at AZ AA:15:103 (ASM) and Archaeological Eligibility Testing at AZ AA:15:105 (ASM), State Route 86, Tohono O’odham Nation, Pima County, Arizona (TR2009-10) (PDF)

Fieldwork conducted in the Arizona Department of Transportation right-of-way along State Route 86 on the Tohono O’odham Nation prior to road improvements identified seven subsurface features, all pits, at AZ AA:15:103 (ASM). Eligibility testing identified one small pit at AZ AA:15:105 (ASM), and these results recommend AZ AA:15:105 (ASM) as eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places. The artifact assemblage collected from the archaeological investigations was small, but indicates local resource procurement and processing for flaked stone tools. The ceramic analysis allowed for an initial description of temper information of the local ceramics.
