Archaeological Investigations of Selected Mortuary Contexts at AZ AA:12:321 (ASM), Marana, Pima County, Arizona (TR2006-12) (PDF)

Desert Archaeology, Inc., excavated a total of 27 features: 24 secondary cremations and three extramural (non-burial) pits. The excavated cremations date to the Hohokam Pioneer and Colonial periods (A.D. 500-950). One of the cremations, Feature 1028, contained a spectacular assemblage of artifacts, thought to be one of the largest and most diverse sets of artifacts ever excavated by archaeologists from a Tucson Basin Hohokam cremation.
