Rob Jones

Rob Jones joined Archaeology Southwest as a Preservation Fellow in 2008. Rob received his B.A. in anthropology from the University of Georgia, and is currently a graduate student at the University of Arizona. He is interested in the intersection of cultural and technical knowledge, and how technological systems and cultural systems interact. Rob has worked on Mississippian sites in Georgia, on Hohokam villages in and around Tucson, and on protohistoric and historic sites in South Carolina. His M.A. thesis concerns ceramic technology at the Point of Pines Pueblo in east central Arizona. Rob’s current research is focused on tracing the circulation of obsidian between and among late prehistoric migrant communities along the Upper Gila River in New Mexico.
