Who We Are: Staff

Kathleen Bader, Membership Assistant

Kathleen Bader serves as the Membership Assistant for Archaeology Southwest. She comes to this position with more than four years of experience working with members and donors at various organizations, including the Nasher Museum of Art, the Arizona Theatre Company, and the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum. More importantly, she brings to this position a passion for the deserts of the American Southwest. Fascinated by the ways in which the desert often preserves and makes visible the events of its own history, she is excited to work with archaeologists in order to better understand the story that lies just beneath the surface of this ever-intriguing landscape.

Kathleen’s passion for the Sonoran Desert is matched by her love for music: she holds a B.A. in music from Princeton University and a Ph.D. in music composition from Duke University. Over the years, Kathleen has found that these two interests go hand in hand, and she is exploring the intersections between her music and natural phenomena.
