Who We Are: Our Boards

Janine Hernbrode

Janine is retired and pursuing a lifelong interest in archaeology, particularly rock art research. Before retirement, her background in education allowed her to write and edit science curriculum and event materials after a career as the Director of Camps, Workshops, and Field Seminars for the National Audubon Society.

Currently, she is in the seventh year of recording and studying the Sutherland Wash Rock Art District, a pursuit that allows her to combine her interests in archaeology and the outdoors. In 2010, Janine was recognized as Arizona Site Steward of the Year for her work at Sutherland Wash. Fiber art surface design is another keen interest, along with building and finish carpentry.

Janine also serves on the board of the Arizona Archaeological and Historical Society.
