Preservation at Sherwood Ranch Pueblo—Call to Past Volunteers
Did you volunteer for the White Mountain Archaeology Center?
If so, you were fortunate to participate in the archaeology of an important and fascinating part of Arizona’s ancient past.
Sadly, as mentioned in the introduction to this online exhibit, much of the data recovered during the excavation of the Raven Site is no longer accessible for current research. Every once in a while, unanticipated things can happen and data are lost. We are not as concerned with how or why these things happened as we are in trying to recover as much information as we can about this important excavation.
The Center for Desert Archaeology seeks to compile as much information about this site as possible. If you worked at the Raven Site, and you are interested in helping us with this effort, please let us know! We are particularly interested in personal notes, photographs, or anything you might remember about this excavation. Please contact Doug Gann at the Center for Desert Archaeology, (520) 882-6946, 300 N. Ash Alley, Tucson AZ 85701.
