Application and Registration

The application form is available here (opens as a fillable PDF). Enrollment is limited, and applications received by March 15, 2024 will receive priority. Application review will begin immediately after that date, and applications will be accepted until the course is filled. The field school is limited to 15 students, graduate and undergraduate.

Course credit: Once accepted, students may register for a three-credit field course and a four-credit lab course through either the University of Arizona or Western New Mexico University. Please check with your advisor about transferring credits to your home university. Participants who have already received a Bachelor’s degree should take the course for graduate student credit, even if they are not currently enrolled in graduate school.

Course fees: Undergraduate tuition and fees are $5,566 for 7 upper-division U of Arizona credit hours. Transportation during the course, supplies, and all field trip costs will be covered by this course fee. Housing and food are available in our group block of WNMU dorms ($1,140) and campus meal plans (about $660), or students may choose to make their own arrangements. Unfortunately, no additional funding is available this year.
