Precticing Preservation Archaeology at Mule Creek

In this “Tea and Archaeology” presentation, Dr. Deborah Huntley discussed Archaeology Southwest’s (formerly the Center for Desert Archaeology) research on issues of community formation and dissolution among the Salado of the Upper Gila and Mimbres river valleys in the 14th and 15th centuries A.D. Despite its central location, and its pivotal role in connecting the Hohokam and Ancestral Pueblo worlds, the Upper Gila of New Mexico remains one of the least-studied areas in the American Southwest.
